Hey there sourdough lovers! I’m Emily, the face (and hands!) behind Nurtured Dough Sourdough Company, proudly based in Omaha, Nebraska.

 

My sourdough journey began back in 2023, when what started as a simple effort to bake healthier bread for my family quickly grew into a full-blown passion, and eventually, a business built from love, patience, and flour.

 

Living with Ulcerative Colitis since I was 14 taught me how important gut health truly is. When I discovered sourdough and how much easier it was to digest, it became more than just bread, it became a part of my healing journey. Sharing that goodness with others felt like the natural next step, and that’s how Nurtured Dough was born.

 

When I’m not at the bakery nurturing dough, you’ll find me spending time with my sweet four-year-old daughter, who keeps me on my toes, and is my biggest inspiration and greatest joy.

 

As Nurtured Dough has grown, I’ve been incredibly blessed to have the support of my amazing family and community. My wonderful mom has become my right-hand baking assistant (even if she didn’t see that coming!), my dad keeps us running smoothly behind the scenes, and our awesome market reps bring our sourdough to life at local Omaha events and markets.
